World Art Day – April 15 – is the international celebration of art in all forms. The aim is to promote awareness of creativity worldwide.
Not coincidentally, World Art Day is also the birthday of the great Italian painter, sculptor, writer, thinker, philosopher, mathematician and scientific innovator Leonardo da Vinci.
Now we all may not have 12 years to dedicate to mastering the lips of such as masterpiece as the Mona Lisa – who is in fact actually smiling – but we could all take some learnings from da Vinci.
Famously once quoted, da Vinci said, ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’.
Simplicity is defined as the quality or condition of being easy to understand or do. In some uses, the label ‘simplicity’ can imply beauty, purity or clarity.
So when it comes to decorating our own strata spaces, use your creativity yet keep it simple and sophisticated.
